Enercom – Atlanta, Georgia
Senior Web Developer / Web Designer
November 2000 – February 2005
In late October of 2000, I accepted a role as a Senior Web Developer for Enercom. I joined a web designer, two Visual Basic developers and a SysAdmin to complete the technology team for the company.
Our primary product was a tool to track energy consumption in the home and provide users an audit of the usage. This was an online tool that used geographically specific weather and energy consumption data to graph the user’s consumption and compare it to homes of a similar size in their local area. From the online analysis users could be guided toward installing better insulation or upgrading their HVAC.
These web applications were often purchased by energy companies as features for their online customers. Consequently both web applications would often need to be wrapped in a custom skins that were integrated into the client’s website.
As a Senior Web Developer, I provided counsel to the executive staff regarding the industry and our development staff capabilities. I worked with the project team as a contributor to the graphic design and web development for our products and backed up the in-house IT guy for routine IIS needs. Later I became the sole designer / web developer as the company downsized.
